How do I turn off canned system prompts?
All Panasonic VPS systems have factory recorded prompts. You can either re-record them or turn them off. On older software versions, it takes less steps than the new versions. You can tell when you enter the prompt number which version you have by the options given.
To change a prompt:
Call the voice mail system, usually 165
POUND 6
STAR 998

1 (for user prompt one)
1 (for a specified prompt)
Enter the prompt number
To change press 1, To SKIP press 2, To turn off the prompt, press 3. If you hear this recording you have an older system. If you press 1, you can record your own prompt. If you press 2, the system will take you to the next prompt. If you press 3, the prompt will be turned off. |

Press 1 and record a new prompt. Anything will do, just count 1234 if you want. Press 1, Press 2 | |
Enter the same prompt number, then press 1, 1, 3. The system will say "The prompt is now turned off" Press STAR STAR STAR to exit or enter the next prompt number. | |
You can turn the prompt back on easily. Repeat steps 1 through 8. After you enter the prompt number, press 1 to change. The system will tell you the prompt is now turned off. Press 1 to change. Then you it says, to record a new prompt, press 1, to erase and use system prompt, press 2 or to turn off the prompt, press 3. If you press 1, you can record the prompt. If you press 2, you can turn on the original system prompt. |
